Nevada County Jail Overview
The Nevada County Jail is operated by the Nevada County Sheriff's Office in Prescott. It is the only detention facility found in official sources that supports a Nevada County local facility page. The sheriff's jail page describes the building as a local detention facility that holds pretrial detainees, warrant arrests, county-sentence inmates, municipal-court sentenced people, parole and probation holds, people held for other agencies, and people sentenced while waiting on Arkansas DOC or Community Corrections beds.
The jail is more than a booking room. It is the county's day-to-day custody point, a short-sentence facility, a warrant and hold location, and a temporary state-placement waiting point. Roster examples from the research include ADC Inmate 309, Hold For ADC, WORK PROGRAM, Warrant Service, FTA-Prescott PD, and outside-county hold language. Those labels explain why Nevada County Jail records may not look like a simple recent-arrest list.
Nevada County Jail Capacity
The sheriff's jail page says the current facility opened in June 2016 after the old jail became outdated. The building places sheriff's offices in the front and an 80-bed detention facility in the back. The sheriff gives a bed split of 36 female beds and 44 male beds. During the research pass, the public roster showed 56 current inmates on May 29, 2026, a point-in-time count rather than an average.
Capacity and population should be read with care. A total count below 80 does not prove the jail has no operational pressure because housing category, sex-specific beds, classification, medical separation, protective custody, and outside holds can all affect where a person can be housed.
Look Up Nevada County Jail Inmates
Use the Nevada County Sheriff inmate roster for people currently held at Nevada County Jail. The roster is free, has current and released filters, and shows public list entries with booking photo thumbnails, names, booking numbers, age, booking date, charges, and profile links. The profile may add gender, race, address city/state, arresting agency, and a bond warning.
- Search the sheriff roster by first or last name, or use Show All if spelling is uncertain.
- Use Current for active jail custody and Released when the person recently bonded out, transferred, or left custody.
- Open the profile to review booking number, booking date, charges, arresting agency, mugshot, and bond warning.
- Call detention staff if bond, charge, case number, or release status must be current.
- Use Arkansas DOC, Search ARCourts, VINE, BOP, or ICE if the person is no longer in Nevada County Jail.

Nevada County Jail Mail Money
No official Nevada County inmate mail page, mail-address format, commissary vendor, online deposit URL, kiosk rule, fee table, phone provider, or phone-rate page was located in the inspected sheriff sources. That gap is important because unofficial jail-service pages can be stale or wrong. Confirm custody and local rules with the jail before sending mail, money, books, photos, or packages.

Nevada County Jail Booking
Booking records at Nevada County Jail may begin with a new arrest, warrant service, failure to appear, parole or probation hold, ADC-related hold, municipal sentence, county sentence, or outside-agency hold. The public roster can then show the booking number, booking date and time, mugshot, age, charges, and profile link. The inspected profile added arresting agency and basic demographic fields.
Jail roster charge text is not the same as a filed court charge. After a Nevada County arrest, the prosecutor decides what to file, and the court record appears through Search ARCourts or the clerk. Bond also can change after court appearances, so the roster warning tells bond companies and people wishing to post bail to contact detention staff for the correct amount, charges, and case numbers.
Nevada County Jail Directions
The visitor destination is the Sheriff's Office and Jail address at 209 East 3rd Street South in Prescott. From I-30, use the Prescott exits and route into central Prescott. From US-371 and nearby rural routes, head toward Prescott, then use the specific sheriff/jail address. Court offices in Prescott may use nearby courthouse addresses, so jail visitors should not rely on a generic courthouse search.
Official visitor parking, public-transit, ADA entrance, locker, and screening-lane details were not published on the sheriff pages inspected. The confirmed visitor-entry instruction is to enter the front lobby and push the button on the left wall next to the jail entry door, or call the jail line at 870-887-1111.
About Nevada County Jail Records
Arkansas detention standards require structured jail records, but Nevada County's public roster is a limited public view. It omits some fields that may exist internally, such as detailed warrant or commitment data, full release time, full demographic record, or offense class. For older or more complete booking records, contact the sheriff's office or records custodian under Arkansas FOIA.
State and federal custody must be separated from local jail custody. The Arkansas DOC locator is the correct path after state transfer or for ADC waiting-list and 309/work labels. BOP handles federal sentenced prisoners, ICE ODLS handles immigration custody, and VINE can provide custody and court-event notifications across several Arkansas systems.
Note: Confirm custody, bond, and visit status with the jail before travel because roster details can change after court action.
